I’ve really wanted to write a blog post the last couple of days. There was a cringle to cover some bit of news, do a bit of gossip, anything. Problem is, nothing new and interesting is happening.

There has been no really interesting moonkin-related news to cover. Sure, they buffed our spells – just like anyones else. We have no way to know how it really compares once we reach level 85, so I find little reason to cover it.

And what’s been going on in WoW? Lots of things, I’m sure. On our first Lich King heroic kill, I secured myself Invincible’s Reins. Tonight, I stole the Royal Scepter. Also, we did Vault of Archivon. I guess that covers WoW related news.

To make matters worse, this is my 100th blog post. I know, time sure passes, right? One part of me said that I should come up with something super special. Then another part of me kicked the first part in the head and said “Who cares?”. So I didn’t.

I guess I’m just making this post to assure you that I’m not running away from the blog. I just generally feel like blog posts should have some content, some value to the readers – you guys – and if there’s nothing to really talk about, I don’t want to waste your time. If you do have some time to waste, I’ll let you read the rest of this post ;)

Minecraft

I don’t want this to seem like advertising – surely it’s not, cause I’m not getting a penny for this – but I wanted to share a game with you. A few weeks ago, I found a Lets Play on Youtube regarding a game called Minecraft. I had never heard of it, as I am sure many of you haven’t either. But after buying it, I seem to have spent so much time in it. Minecraft is a game about blocks and… zombies and… building stuff. The real description is a bit fuzzy, cause the game is really what you make of it. When me and my guildies talk about it, we jokingly call it “Bear Grylls – The Game”.

You are placed on a randomly generated world with nothing but a deformed-looking arm. You quickly realise that you can punch through trees, and through that, manage to get a piece of wood. Eventually you find out how to make a mining pick, or maybe a shovel, and you run around the game chopping down trees and digging up dirt. Suddenly, nighttime falls upon you, and the quiet night is filled by sounds of drooling zombies and rattling skeletons. You didn’t make a shelter yet, did you? Well, sucks to be you.

Minecraft is still in Alpha, but can become very addicting in a very short time. I got hooked, then a couple of guildies got hooked, and it seems like everybody that bothers to spend the money on it is spending every minute they can on the game. It’s not free, though. It will bring you down 10 EUR, a price that gets bumped up to 20 EUR once the game goes to beta, but if you have the money to spare, don’t hesitate to try it out. You can play the free version, in browser, although this is just a generic build mode and not the Survival Mode that has you plastered to your screen once you buy the game.

Where you go from here is completely up to you. If you want to mine for iron, gold or diamond, you just go do that. If you want to create magnificent buildings, knock yourself out! I’m sure you’ll figure out something. As said above, the game is still in Alpha, and a lot more stuff are going to be added eventually – the guild and I are looking forward to Multiplayer Survival for sure!

Here’s a video of my little Minecraft world – buy the game at Minecraft.net! Let me know what you think of it!

Let’s hope for some real news soon!
